8 July 2023 - Our Night Among the Stars

It was the busiest workshop we've ever hosted - 37 enthusiasts joined our stargazing party, and it turned into a great journey!

As the host and an avid astrophotographer, I spent most of my time capturing the beauty of the core of the Milky Way with my attendees. Most people came for astronomy, and the milky way is the most magnificent stellar object I can offer.

Our home galaxy, the milky way, cradled our sun, which in turn birthed our planets, and we reside on the only known planet teeming with life. This means our existence is deeply connected with the brilliant milky way above us. The photo I took is a gift for everybody - it serves as a poignant reminder that we are not mere observers, but active participants in the grand scheme of cosmological evolution.

We also had some impressive first-time attempts at deep-sky photography. One of our young guests called Hemi captured the stunning Carina Nebula.

Another 9 year old girl called Miheli managed to snap a beautiful shot of the colourful Lagoon Nebula.

One of my friends even got an incredible image of Omega Centauri, which looked like a globe of diamonds floating in the sky.

Apologies: with so many attendees, I was unable to cater to everyone's individual needs and queries. Please accept my sincere apologies; I tried my best to ensure everyone had a fulfilling and memorable experience.
