Kakadu National Park

This image captured the Milky Way rising above the Nourlangie Rock in the Kakadu National Park. It was an excellent place for viewing the gorgeous landscape, where the enormous flatland was slowly shadowed by the setting sun. It's easy to imagine the locals using this place as a star-gazing platform after sunset a long time ago.

The lookout was a world heritage site, which was closed after sunset. I photographed the night sky near my campsite later that day and blended them into a single image.
