Orion & Karlu Karlu

This image captures the Orion Belt setting beneath the western horizon in the Australian outback. The foreground was taken during blue hour near the iconic Devil's Marbles. The night sky was imaged separately using an astro-modified camera and a star tracker. The modification allows the camera to capture hydrogen emissions from nebulas, resulting in the pinkish region in the night sky. Many iconic deep-sky targets can be seen in this image, including the Orion Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula, the Rosette Nebula and the Seagull Nebula.
