Litchfield National Park

This timelapse was taken in the Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory, Australia. It captured the core of our Milky Way Galaxy, rising above the Australian Bush. The orange flares in the bottom left corner were bushfires that night.

That bush was a truly magical place, with a unique combination of gorgeous landscape, pristine night skies, strange plants and lovely animals. I encountered wild buffalos munching on grass near my campsite, and dingos barked at me for trespassing their territory. There were fireflies flying around, giving off faint but mesmerizing light like small beacons. And, of course, there were Kangaroos jumping around, doing their kangaroo business (this is Australia, after all)...
